Oh fox! Far from the fray!
What are you doing on our deck today?
This furry creature was curled up and dozing--
nose in his tail and snugly reposing.
Why snooze here?
Doesn’t he have instinctive fear?
Maybe had too much for lunch
with all our mice to crunch.
I waited a while
and he stirred with a smile
to be friends I hoped
but off to his foxhole he loped.
